These days it should be irrelevant. Planes are all equipped with inertial navigation systems. The plane can take off and land on its own...

Don't let Ryan know, he may suggest cutting pilots of from the payroll. They are high paid jobs...

I don't think that's so, Crin. ILS allows planes to land in foggy conditions, but fog freequently restricts takeoffs, I think due to ground conditions for planes taxiing & clearing runways, & pilots need visibility for safe takeoffs, etc. It happens every day. Airports get comgested due to lack of takeoffs, & thanks to our spoke & hub system of airports, this congestion spreads across the country.

As a movie buff, do you remember that the movie "Airport" was filmed at MSP Int'l Airport? They had some delays in filming because they didn't have enough snow for awhile.

Great shot Crin, why does it only look like a mist to me. In a thick fog I wouldn't expect to see the big building on the left. Maybe we're just used to thicker fog over here, hehe
